Considering birth photography? You might have some questions…

Why should I hire a birth photographer?

I firmly believe that birth photography should be available for every woman who chooses it. Birth is a life-changing experience, moments are fleeting, and there’s only one chance to get a beautiful image of you meeting your sweet baby for the very first time.

I’m a private person. Will you be up in my business and sharing personal photos on social media?

The reason why my business is called, “Sacred Space Photography,” is because of the ultimate respect I have for the birthing space. As a complete and total birth junkie (who has considered becoming the second Michelle Duggar, simply because I adore pregnancy and giving birth), I understand and respect birth on the deepest level.

I would love to meet with you and your partner to answer any questions you have prior to signing my contract. Upon being hired, I meet with mama (+ partner/birth support) to discuss the fine details of what you’re comfortable with (+ not). No images will be shown publicly without your prior consent.

My goal is to be a fly on the wall, and for you to not even know I am there. I will document your birth quietly and unobtrusively, allowing you to fall deep within your sacred birthing space, as if I wasn’t even there.

When do you show up for a birth?

I know firsthand how unpredictable birth can be. As a mama who had a 24-hour labor with my first, ending in a c-section, to a less-than-3-hours precipitous VBAC for my second, and a middle-of-the-road 5-hour VBAC with baby number three - I place no expectations or requirements on how many centimeters dilated you are. If you are having a homebirth, call me when you call your midwife and/or doula. If you are having a hospital birth, call me when you are in active labor.
